Showa Kinen Park is a 169.4-hectare national park in Tachikawa City and Akishima City, Tokyo, that is rich in nature.
At Showa Kinen Park, “Autumn Night Walk 2024” will be held from October 31 to December 1. During the Autumn Night Walk, the Japanese Garden and the Ginkgo Tree Avenue will be lit up, creating a fantastic view.

Showa Kinen Park was built on the former site of the U.S. Army’s Tachikawa Airfield as part of the 50th anniversary of Emperor Showa’s reign, and there are free and charged areas.

Many flowers and plants are planted in the park, and visitors can enjoy the changes depending on the time of year and the season. Typical examples are cherry blossoms and tulips in spring, water lilies and sunflowers in summer, cosmos, ginkgo and maple in fall, and plum and sasanqua in winter.

In addition, Showa Kinen Park has the Emperor Showa Memorial Museum (separate fee; combination ticket with the park is available), area that recreates the rural landscape of the 1950s, several restaurants, cafes, stores, pond, and various other facilities, so you can enjoy a stroll.

Tachikawa Showa Kinen Park Fireworks
Showa Kinen Park will host the Tachikawa Showa Kinen Park Fireworks in July.
The 2024 event will be held on Saturday, July 27, and approximately 5,000 fireworks are expected to be launched.
The main venue for the Tachikawa Showa Kinen Park Fireworks is a field in the middle of the park, which is expected to be particularly crowded on the day of the event.
