Gin-bura is a slang created in the Taisho Period (1912-1926) to describe a casual stroll through Ginza, one of Tokyo’s most popular shopping districts.
The “Gin” and “Bura” in Ginbura are abbreviations for “Ginza” and “Burabura (casual stroll)”.
In other words, “Gin-bura” is a general term for enjoying shopping, dining, and strolling in Ginza.
At Ginza Chuo-dori Street, the main street of Ginza, there will be a pedestrian paradise on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, allowing visitors to walk along the roadway.
The hours of the pedestrian paradise are as follows.
