The Oshino Hakkai Festival is held in Oshino Village, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture, and is the largest event in the village, dedicated to the eight great dragon kings, the guardian deities of Oshino Hakkai, for the peace and prosperity of the village.

The festival features the “Hachimonji” burning, in which fire is set off in the shape of the character for eight in Japanese (八), and at the end of the festival, 5,888 fireworks are shot off.
