Kushikatsu are deep-fried skewers said to have originated in Kansai (Osaka), Japan. There are a wide variety of choices of ingredients for kushikatsu, including beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, scallops, quail eggs, eringi mushrooms, onions, asparagus, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, and cheese.
