Ramen (ラーメン) has its origins in Chinese noodles, but has evolved and taken root in Japan in its own unique way. And you can enjoy a huge variety of ramen in Japan.
In general, ramen can be divided into shoyu ramen(soy source based ramen), miso ramen(miso based ramen), shio ramen(salt based ramen), and tonkotsu ramen(pork bone based ramen).
Ramen also has numerous derivatives, including tsukemen, which is eaten dipping noodles in soup, mazesoba, which has little or no soup and is eaten while mixing the sauce, and hiyashi chuka, cold ramen which is perfect for summer.
